BATTLE OF ADAMEK VS BANKS : ADAMEK FORCED BELL TO RETIRE
Tomasz Adamek is not a household name. I don't even think casual fight fans would be able to tell you who he is exactly. That's a sad existence for a guy who's a two division world champion and is one of the most exciting fighters in boxing. You'd be hard pressed to find a more exciting fight last year than the battle Adamek had with Steve "USS" Cunningham in winning the IBF cruiserweight championship. In a closely fought contest it was three knockdowns scored by Adamek that allowed the Polish warrior to outpoint his game American counterpart. It should have been Adamek's coming out party amongst boxing's elite. He was on a roll since his defeat at the hands of light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson, moving up in weight to the 200 pound ranks. He defeated non-descript opposition in impressive fashion before facing his first real test in former undisputed cruiserweight champion O'Neill Bell. Adamek forced Bell to retire in his corner at the end of the 8th round to earn his shot at Cunningham. But its always been this way for Tomasz. In his two bouts for the WBC light heavyweight championship against Australian Paul Briggs, Adamek was victorious with each being a fight of the year candidate.Conversely, Jonathon Banks make Tomasz Adamek seem as famous as Manny Pacquiao in the eyes of boxing fans. Banks is a relative unknown out of Detroit, Michigan. He sports an undefeated record through 20 bouts with 14 wins by KO, his most notable victories being over journeyman cruiserweight Imamu Mayfield and Cuban defector and former Wladimir Klitschko KO victim Eliseo Castillo, who managed to drop Banks in round 1 before being stopped in the 4th as he was against Wladimir.Recently, Banks stated, "I'm a boxer, that's what I do, the difference is, I can punch! Sparring with Vladimir (Klitschko) taught me how to deal with punches, I'm well equipped to win this fight."Look for an explosive fight, most of all don't blink!"Apart from those two names however, Bank's resume is far from impressive. Where as Adamek has defeated world champions, Banks has faced only 13 opponents with winning records as opposed to the other 7 who were either successful less than half the time or making their pro debut.Adamek is on the wrong side of 30 by two years. He's been through several wars, most recently the battle with Cunningham. Banks is only 26 years old and has had a far less taxing career than Adamek. Physically Banks is an inch and a half taller and the fresher of the two at 6 years the junior of Adamek and as stated having been through a much less grueling series of opponents. However Adamek faced that very same situation in his bout against Steve Cunningham. Cunningham's resume was far from lackluster however, with victories over Marco Huck, Kyzysztof Wlodarczyk, and Guillermo Jones. While there is always the chance that the wars may suddenly catch up with Adamek, I can't see it happening against Johnathon Banks. While Adamek should already be mentioned with boxing's elite class of fighters much the way his only conqueror Chad Dawson is, he isn't. What he has here is an opportunity on a nationally televised forum in Showtime Championship Boxing against an opponent there for him to showcase the bevy of skills he possesses and the excitement with which he executes in the squared circle. Perhaps Tomasz will finally have that elusive coming out party he so richly deserves amongst scribes and fans who will finally take note."After beating Cunningham I became number one, I feel I am the best," Adamek said earlier this week. "Although I won that fight and everyone liked it, it was rough on me because I would have liked the fight to have been sooner. I trained for six months (for Cunningham) because the fight was changed two times. This fight, they will see a better Adamek because I will be more fresh and sharp, I will win!"Also on the undercard a middleweight bout pits Giovanni Lorenzo looking to rebound from his upset loss to former world champion Raul Marquez, against unheralded Dionisio Miranda, who recently upset Canadian prospect Sebastien Demers. Both fights will be brought to you live via Showtime Championship Boxing emanating from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Friday, February 27th.

tron
Oooooh yes ... tr2n is coming and its a great news for the technology lovers and celebrationsss., it’s a cult classic, and it’s now being re-imagined (sequelled, no less) as new film - with probably Mobile (+other platforms) games due with it - enter “Tr2n”!
Tr2n is due to be released by Disney in 2011 - for Tron-heads (if that’s what they call them), it’s going to be big news! The original film, though not doing well at the time of release, has gained quite some momentum over the years - and lends itself perfectly to some great gaming experiences.
Rather than me bore you with the details of Tron’s plot etc, check out the details from Wikipedia
So if we had to guess - and if the film is worked closely in collaboration with the game developers, we could expect all the major platforms to be covered, with the likes of PS3 and co. covering the awesome graphics area - but with the right thinking, I think there’s room for some pretty special mobile gaming too - particularly given the pace devices are now handling GFX at. So iPhone, PSP, N-gage, and DS users - I personally think you might, just might, be in for something special. Fingers crossed…
